Conference season is in full swing, but for me, NEXT.io Valletta in May has very much set the benchmark for those still to come. With so many expos now on the calendar, it’s almost impossible to attend them all, but for me and the rest of the Quanta team, NEXT.io has become a must.
Why? It starts with the more intimate nature of the event and the calibre of the attendees – at most conferences, you tend to find middle management in attendance but NEXT.io draws key decision-makers and of the c-suite and this year’s Valletta event was no different.
NEXT.io always hits the mark with its event content, too. The presentations and s covered important topics and trends, with speakers being true experts in their field. This meant they provided real value and actionable takeaways.
But where Next.io events really stand out is the networking and the way it brings delegates together in a relaxed, go-with-the-flow environment. This helps to foster connections and conversations more naturally.
In my experience, the conversations I have had at NEXT.io events come with no expectations and ultimately become a discussion about how both parties can collaborate and work together. There’s no hard sell, which I think all parties are happy about.
The Quanta team was on the ground at NEXT.io Valletta and we had great fun ing the conversation around non-traditional content and games, which is becoming increasingly important for online casino operators looking to engage the next generation of players.
We recently announced a partnership with Clawbuster that brings the provider’s innovative claw games to our platform for the first time. The studio is a pioneer of the claw mechanic (think of the arcade games you played as a kid) and combines it with the traditional slot format.
Most of the provider’s games are video slots but with claws that drop down with each spin, bringing additional symbols and bonus features into play. This mix of something familiar and something new makes its games really intuitive, which is key to player adoption.
Non-traditional games act as both an acquisition and retention tool. While they allow operators to tap into the lucrative Millennial and Gen Z cohorts looking for video and mobile gaming experiences (like crash, mines, claws, etc) they also excite existing players with something new and different.
Clawbuster’s data shows extended session times across its portfolio of games, allowing operators to boost player loyalty, revenues and lifetime value.
We also took part in discussions about content aggregators and how Quanta is disrupting the content provision space. In addition to stocking games from providers of non-traditional content, as well as standard slot and casino games, we have a number of USPs that our partners can leverage to improve their offering to players while driving growth across the wider business.
This includes being among only a handful of aggregators that undertake a full integration with each studio so that in addition to the provider’s games our partners can access things like promotional and gamification tools – with most aggregators, you just get the games.
But access to these tools is key to helping operators maximise the value of each game, especially if that means educating players about a new game format such as Clawbuster’s claw mechanic games.
In these instances, being able to run promotions that allow players to use a few free game rounds to try the format to see if they like it is the catalyst for adoption – players are often reluctant to spend time and money learning something new.
Flexibility is another Quanta USP, especially when it comes to management. We are fully transparent with our operator and studio partners, and allow them to connect directly to make sure that both parties maximise the potential of the partnership.
Most aggregators don’t do this as they prefer to control the relationship. But we know our job and why we are here, and that’s to connect studios and operators, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between them and us.
Quanta is all about providing more value to both operators and studios, and that’s why we also offer one of the most competitive commercial models in the industry. We apply a super low margin so that we are not cost-prohibitive, especially for new operators coming to the market.
This is actually our superpower – not only are we low cost, but we offer more than our competitors thanks to the full integrations we undertake with each studio and our flexibility and transparency.
The Quanta team spent a lot of time discussing these USPs with those attending NEXT.io Valletta, and enjoyed adding our thoughts to discussions around non-traditional content and the aggregation and provision space.
